ADG provided structural and civil engineering services on a five level commercial development located in Fortitude Valley.
This five level commercial development in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley adjoins the popular Emporium complex on two boundaries: Brooke Street and a heritage listed church on the other.
Several factors such as the site’s inner-city location, variable ground conditions and the requirement for three levels of basements added complexity to the project. One of the key challenges was the presence of foundations from adjoining properties and in-ground services on Brooke Street and Wickham Street. Our brief was to minimise columns, leading to an approach where we tailored our structural design to use 15m x 9m grids.
Our efficient design approach effectively reduced the impact of neighbouring sites and construction costs for this unique project.
By drawing on our extensive and varied experience, we achieved all of the client’s priorities on budget and the cantilevered roof provided a unique finish to the structure.
