ADG Engineers were engaged to complete the Design and documentation of a Carpark consisting of 24 bays to facilitate dry season sports located at the new Marrara detention basin on Henry-Wrigley Drive, Marrara.

Due to late changes to the original intended location and footprint of the carpark, the survey data failed to capture the entirety of the new carpark footprint. To overcome this ADG used a combination of the survey data and as constructed information provided by DIPL.

ADG took advantage of the existing fall of the land and applied this to the design methodology to eliminate the need for underground drainage infrastructure thus saving on construction costs.

The original intended footprint of the carpark consisted of two separated ingress and egress points. Working with DIPL, ADG came up with a design which incorporated a single access point.

ADG had to consider the local movements of airport and sports facility traffic along Henry-Wrigley Drive. Consideration was given to disallow right tun movements into the carpark from Henry-Wrigley Drive to reduce queuing and collision risks at the carpark access.

Simple yet effective design solutions were developed with DIPL. Effective use of signs and linemarking with painted medians were implemented. ADG took advantage of the existing fall of the land and applied this to the design methodology to eliminate the need for underground drainage infrastructure thus saving on construction costs.

The project was completed within the due date with all major deliverable issues supplied to the client and stakeholders on or before the respective due dates agreed upon in the response schedule. ADG issued no variations to the client for this project.

Understanding the importance of liaising with Client/Stakeholders for their specific needs with regards to carparking layout/function/practicality. Through thorough communication with relevant Stakeholders we were able to optimise the carparking layout to suit planning, functional requirements and the ultimate users.
