ADG provided structural engineering services to Sunbuild Pty Ltd on the state of the art Marrara Indoor Netball Centre. The contract was awarded by the Northern Territory Government through a design and construct process in which ADG provided an innovative structural design solution. The project comprises four new indoor Netball courts, fixed stadium seating for 2,000 spectators, function rooms and amenities and 150 under croft car parking bays.

ADG credits Julianne Osborne for project photographs.

Following tender award during detailed design, ADG identified further construction cost savings in the post tensioned slab and structural steelwork design.

ADG structural engineering design assisted the contractor in their successful submission on this design and construct Tender. Following contract award, ADG identified further structural savings in the post tensioned slabs and structural steelwork through detailed finite element (RAM Concept) and 3d structural analysis (Spacegass).

Our client required clear span areas for the Netball courts with structural spans up to 40m. ADG designed structural steel trusses to achieve the required spans.

To facilitate the construction programme, ADG designed the stadium seating in precast concrete to reduce the overall construction programme.
