Stephen has significant design engineering experience within the Construction and Infrastructure sectors with a specialisation in Temporary Works.
Stephen’s design skills extend to reinforced and pre-stressed concrete, demolition engineering, development of construction methodologies, formwork and shoring systems, provision of technical engineering advice and inspection of formwork and scaffold systems.
Stephen has been involved in the development of demolition methodologies for a wide range of projects including buildings, sporting stadiums and bridges. These methodologies are required to be developed considering the constraints of the sites and the physical environment, resulting in the need for temporary works to ensure the temporary stability of the partially demolished structure, and the safety of demolition personnel and the public.
Stephen also has significant experience conducting independent checks of structural designs for the temporary works for major transport infrastructure projects.
Skilled in working with a wide variety of industry professionals, Stephen provides practical design solutions to meet the most complex of design criteria, and he has the capacity to successfully transfer and adapt his knowledge into other fields of engineering. Stephen has successfully managed multi-disciplined design teams of engineers, draftspersons, and is a keen mentor of graduate, junior and senior engineers.
