Project timeline
2021-2024
With approximately 72 kilometres of new passenger rail and 23 new stations, METRONET is the single largest investment in public transport Perth has seen. The 21km Morley-Ellenbrook Line provides people living and working in Perth’s north-eastern suburbs more transport choice.
The Morley-Ellenbrook Line starts at Bayswater Station on the Midland Line, travels in the centre of Tonkin Highway, through land north of Marshall Road, along the western side of Drumpellier Drive (formerly New Lord Street) and ends in Ellenbrook, south of The Parkway.

Laing O’Rourke engaged ADG to provide a variety of engineering services across the project to assist with program critical delivery. ADG’s engagement included detailed design and construction documentation of several packages and construction phase support.
List of services included:
To assist with the project’s fast-tracked delivery, ADG mobilised several teams, each with a dedicated lead to enable simultaneous delivery of program critical packages. This allowed for complete integration of ADG within the alliance and fostered an extremely collaborative approach. With dedicated Principal Engineers providing design oversight, ADG maintained consistency of design approach across all scope elements.
Combining our design and temporary works expertise, ADG identified key constructability and methodology challenges during the design phase to reduce/remove temporary works and benefit overall construction program.
As Perth’s largest public transport project since the Mandurah Line, this project will support approximately 6,500 jobs and help shape vibrant new communities. The project includes new Stations in Morley, Noranda, Malaga, Whiteman Park, and Ellenbrook. Bayswater Station will be rebuilt, and a future station is planned at Bennett Springs East.
WA Transport Minister Rita Saffioti has described the rail line project as ‘the final missing piece for transport infrastructure in the north-eastern suburbs of Perth’.
Being integrated within the alliance, our teams achieved a fast-tracked design program, while adding features to aid constructability and benefit end-users of this city-shaping facilities.
