Destination Gold Coast, The Star Gold Coast Stage 1 Tower

Destination Gold Coast Tower 1 is a new 54-level tower that will include a luxury hotel, residential apartments, and retail space making it the first mixed use precinct on Broadbeach Island. There are 7 levels of podium retail and carpark with connecting link bridge to the existing Star Casino. The upper level podium is a landscaped recreation deck including gym and pool.

ADG are providing all structural design and documentation and the proposed solution incorporates prestressed concrete floors throughout. 

Due to the slenderness of the structure ADG developed an innovative solution incorporating a vertically prestressed concrete core to enhance lateral stiffness and reduce reinforcement congestion.

Infinity Tower



LOCATION Broadbeach, Queensland

Civil and Structural Engineering

The development comprises a 40 storey residential tower with 3 basements and 2 podium levels for car parking. The tower contains 61 units containing between 2 and 6 bedrooms per unit. A retail tenancy is located on ground floor and communal open space proposed at Level 2.

The basement shoring system is secant piled wall, the secant piled basement wall system was designed to support final building loads.

Hydraulic and Structural Engineering

ADG provided structural and hydraulic engineering services for this four staged project. The site, adjacent CBUS Stadium is an entire ‘mini city’ suspended on a podium slab above the Robina flood plain.

The residential podium structure constructed is the largest in the southern hemisphere and there is enough structure within this development to be have constructed the frames for 2 x 30 storey residential towers. Every suspended slab within this development is unique, not any two slabs are the same in shape, height, step height, set out, falls etc.

The podium slab comprises 893 columns, 912 piles, approximately 1300 tonnes reinforcement, 348 tonnes post-tensioning installations, 24000m3 concrete placed inclusive of columns, slabs, plus CFA piles supplied by Ausipile.

Allegra Apartments

LOCATION Southport, Queensland

Hydraulic and Structural Engineering

Allegra Apartments is a 15 storey residential apartment building with 2 basements. Carparking is planned for the basement levels and three floors above ground, with access from both Nind Street and Scarborough Street. Retail space is provided oan Ground Level at the corner of Nind and Scarborough Streets.

The project contains approximately 114 units varying from 1 to 3 bedroom.
Outstanding features of the hydraulic design include:
